FrantiÅ¡ek VÃzner, Bohemian art glass vase.
Sculptural art glass vase in amber-toned glass with a strongly modelled, relief-textured surface and a precisely formed cylindrical body. The piece reflects VÃzner’s hallmark focus on volume, light and the material’s inner glow rather than transparency.

Bio:
FrantiÅ¡ek VÃzner (1936–2011) is regarded as one of the great minimalists of Czech glass art. He trained at the specialised glass schools in Nový Bor and Železný Brod before graduating in 1962 from the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague under Professor Karel Å tipl. His early works are considered a key moment in post-war Czech modernism, rooted in functionalist principles and restrained elegance. VÃzner initially designed for industrial pressed-glass production, a discipline that sharpened his sensitivity to form and technical precision. From the late 1960s onward, he transformed the vessel into an autonomous art object, culminating in the establishment of his own studio in 1977. Exhibited internationally and represented in major public collections, his work is distinguished by rigorous intellectual control, refined craftsmanship and a unique, luminous presence within the glass.
