Bio:
Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 under the patronage of Queen Juliane Marie. The manufactory is especially famous for its hand-painted porcelain decorations such as “Blue Fluted” and “Saxon Flower,” introduced in the late 18th century. The “Saxon Flower” pattern was inspired by contemporary botanical engravings and became one of the factory’s most popular designs in the 19th century. Today, these early examples are highly sought after by collectors.
